University graduates in Kenya take an average of about 12 months to secure their first jobs, according to a new study on graduate employability. The report says job searches are lengthy, competitive and frustrating, with lack of work experience emerging as the biggest barrier to employment. Other challenges include limited job opportunities, skills mismatch, inadequate professional networks and insufficient information on available jobs.
