Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected this week in parts of the North Rift, Central Kenya, including Nairobi, Western, Nyanza and the Coast. Franklin Komolkorir from the Met Department says no flooding is expected, with the Northeastern and Northwestern regions likely to experience sunny and dry weather. He has also dismissed claims that the rains are the start of the expected El Niño, saying the phenomenon is likely to begin in the first or second week of October.
