The family of Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana and his wife, Deputy Government Spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga, has announced the death of their last-born daughter, Amal Mghoi Mungatana.
Amal, 8, died on Sunday, September 13, 2026, while undergoing treatment at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital in Muthaiga, Nairobi.
According to the family, Amal had struggled with her health since birth and received treatment both in Kenya and abroad.
The family said they were grateful for the joy, love and smiles she brought whenever she was well.
“The family is gathered at their home in Ngao Village, Tana River County, as funeral arrangements continue,” the family said.
Amal will be buried on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Ngao Village.
“We loved her but God loved her more,” the family said.
