KNUT has called on the Ministry of Education to put measures in place to prevent disruptions to the school calendar during the anticipated El Niño rains. Deputy Secretary General Hesbon Otieno says the union is confident the calendar will not be interrupted, noting that warnings were issued early enough. Most schools are expected to close for the third term on October 23, while the rains are projected to begin in the second week of October.
