There is a need for political leaders in Kenya to recognise that many Kenyans, particularly young people, often emulate their actions and behaviour, which could have a significant impact on societal values, even as the country approaches the 2027 General Election. Political analyst and Bishop Amos Lewa has urged politicians to change their conduct and watch their language during political gatherings, to ensure their remarks do not incite violence before, during or after the elections. He warns that irresponsible behaviour by political leaders could negatively influence young people and heighten political tensions ahead of the polls.
