Senators have backed a motion calling for the implementation of clean cooking solutions through enhanced financing and improved budget models by both levels of government. The motion also seeks to ensure public institutions adopt clean cooking technologies. Nominated Senator Hamida Kibwana, who sponsored the motion, said traditional cooking methods contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation and health complications.
