Kenya’s metabolic disease burden is projected to double by 2050, raising concern among physicians over late diagnosis and costly complications. Healthcare professionals say stronger screening and early treatment could help prevent patients from progressing to serious cardiovascular, kidney and other complications. The concerns were raised at a Nairobi forum supported by Getz Pharma and attended by about 200 healthcare professionals.
