Kenyan musician Stevo Simple Boy and his partner Brenda officially revealed the face of their son, Dragon Junior, on Saturday afternoon. The highly anticipated, star-studded event took place at the Imperial Chambers Garden from 2:00 pm on Saturday.
The celebration followed months of privacy and intense online discussion. To attend the physical reveal, fans paid KSh 500 for regular entry and KSh 1,000 for VIP access.
Overcoming Online Criticism
Dragon Junior was born on Saturday, 1 November. Following his birth, the couple faced severe cyberbullying. Some social media users even demanded a DNA test.
This prompted the parents to state during a previous interview that they would never show their baby’s face online to protect him from bullying.
However, Stevo Simple Boy chose to respond with peace. He announced the face reveal as a way to celebrate all physical appearances and support children with different conditions. He wanted the day to be a positive experience for everyone.
"Nimekaa kimya sana ni wakati wa kujivunia mwonekano wetu, kila mtu ako biuri kivyake," Stevo previously shared.
The online reveal immediately captured the attention of top Kenyan celebrities and fans. The couple's social media post quickly gained over 23,000 likes.
