Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has asked the Inspector General of Police to increased protection of journalists in the country as we move closer to the 2027 General Election. Condemned the abduction of Standard Media Group Associate Editor Alex Kiprotich, Murkomen, said journalists should not be targeted because of their reporting or criticism of the government. Murkomen said political or personal disagreements with journalists should be handled through legal channels rather than intimidation.
