The Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon has received a major boost after CFAO Mobility Kenya remitted a KES 2 million sponsorship and a fleet of eight vehicles that will lead runners across every category of this year's race set for October 25.

CFAO Mobility puts electrified mobility on full display in one of the country's most-watched sporting events, turning race day into a live showcase of the cleaner, smarter mobility future the company is building for Kenya.

"Mobility enables opportunity. It connects people to businesses, businesses to markets, communities to services, and individuals to their ambitions," said Joshua Anya, Deputy Managing Director, CFAO Mobility Kenya. "The Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon brings together runners driven by resilience, discipline and determination the same values that drive CFAO Mobility every day. Leading this race with a fleet that includes the first Toyota EV, the BZ4X and the BYD plug-in hybrid model and this is a true statement of intent: this is the kind of mobility Kenya deserves, and it is the future CFAO Mobility is committed to delivering, on the road and off it."

This sponsorship builds on CFAO Mobility's wider investment in Kenyan sporting talent, including its ongoing partnership with African 100m record holder Ferdinand Omanyala a fellow ambassador of discipline, resilience and peak performance. A number of CFAO Mobility staff will also lace up and take part in the marathon, running alongside the very community the brand exists to serve.

In last year’s edition of the run, Bernard Chepkwony and Hellen Chepkorir clocked 2:11:01 and 2:27:17 respectively to win the 42km marathon. Alex Saekwo came second doing 2:11:26 and Ezekiel Kemboi closed the podium with 2:11:40 in the men’s marathon while Naomi Tuei and Scholastica Jepkemboi achieved an impressive 2:27:37 and 2:29:18 respectively to finish second and third in the women’s marathon.

Joshua Kithuku clocked 1:02:34 and Fridah Rerimoi doing 1:14:22 to win the men’s and women’s 21km half marathon.
