Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has referred the County Appropriation Bill 2026 back to the County Assembly for reconsideration, accusing MCAs of unlawful budget interference. Governor Ndeti says the Assembly altered allocations amounting to Sh853.96 million, cutting funds for roads, bursaries, youth services, revenue management and social welfare. She also accuses the Assembly of increasing its own development budget by 130 million shillings, beyond the agreed ceiling.
