The family of the late Arbantone artiste Edgar Davids Odhiambo Ochieng, popularly known as Stoopid Boy, is preparing for his send-off amidst internal family disagreements.
The "G Bag Na Jug" hitmaker reportedly died by suicide on Thursday, 27 August 2026. This second tragedy struck the family just three months after they buried his elder brother, Ian Wright, on 17 May 2026.
In an emotional broadcast with Street Vybez Media Hub, the rapper's father, George William Ochieng Awili, and close family members opened up. They shared crucial updates regarding his surviving family, funeral committee meetings, and an active dispute over his final resting place.
The Core Dispute Over the Burial Place
The rapper's body is currently preserved at the Chiromo Mortuary. However, a major disagreement has emerged between the paternal and maternal sides of the family regarding where the remains should be interred.
Moses, a close family friend who accompanied the father and grandmother to Embakasi Police Station, explained:
"He said once, and for all if he dies he should be buried at his father's place.”
Moses expressed severe concerns about letting the maternal side overtake the arrangements, referencing the hasty burial of Edgar's brother in May:
"The reason why we lost the other child to be buried it is because of this guy."
He added that they must stand by the father's side: "Let us make that guy be buried in the father is there."
Surviving Wife and Three Children
Behind the viral music and street fame, Edgar leaves behind a young family. The interview confirmed that the late musician had a wife and three young children.
Speaking during the interview, the Street Vybez host highlighted the heavy responsibility left behind:
“Edgar had 3 children and a wife,” they confirmed.
This young family now faces an uncertain future without their primary provider, adding further emotional weight to the ongoing funeral arrangements.
“Please help me to take my grandson home for burial. Siaya is very far and the expenses are high, help me,” the grandmother pleaded.
The family is currently facing intense financial difficulties. Having conducted another burial just three months ago, their resources are entirely depleted.
Edgar’s father, George William, spoke candidly about his financial state:
"I need their support because I myself I'm not stable as such for now you know."
To resolve the burial dispute and coordinate the financial appeals, the family has scheduled a critical meeting. The committee will sit on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to plan the final send-off.
