Faith leaders in Marsabit County have joined efforts to combat drug and substance abuse following an interfaith training by NACADA. NACADA Marsabit County Coordinator Mohamed Wako said religious leaders have a critical role in addressing the growing problem by incorporating anti-drug messages into sermons and religious programmes. He said the leaders agreed to invite NACADA officials to churches, mosques, madrasas, youth camps and community gatherings to sensitize residents on substance abuse risks.
