Kesses MP Julius Kipletting has warned that continued borrowing without productive investment is unsustainable, urging a shift in fiscal decisions to protect future generations. Echoing this stance, Kisumu East MP Ahmed Shabbir stressed that Parliament must have the courage to reject unbeneficial loans, urguing that national debt cannot come at the expense of healthcare, employment and essential development priorities. The MPs were speaking after receiving a youth debt ultimatum at an event convened by AHF and civil society groups.
