Labour CS Alfred Mutua has raised concerns over the alleged neglect of development projects he initiated while serving as Machakos Governor by his successor, Wavinya Ndeti. Mutua cited the Kitongi Community Borehole in Kangundo Constituency, which he said has broken down and been abandoned, leaving thousands, including schoolchildren without reliable water. He also questioned the closure of Kawethei Market’s toilet, saying the unexplained shutdown has forced traders to seek alternative sanitation facilities.
