National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang'ula has attended a Papal Audience at the Vatican, Rome, led by Pope Leo XIV.
Wetang'ula said the audience was an opportunity for reflection, fellowship and goodwill as faithful from different parts of the world gathered to receive the Pope's message.
"Attended the Papal Audience at the Vatican, led by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV," Wetang'ula said.
"This was a moment of reflection, fellowship and goodwill as we joined faithful from across the world to receive the Holy Father’s message of peace, hope and service to humanity."
He said he was accompanied by Members of Parliament Peter Kaluma, John Bwire, Lydia Haika, Katana Kahindi and Paul Abuor.
Wetang'ula was also accompanied by Kenya's Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Kenya to the Holy See in Rome, Ambassador Rose Sumbeiywo.
The Vatican held its weekly General Audience on Wednesday, August 26, with Pope Leo XIV delivering a catechesis at St Peter's Basilica.
Wetang'ula described the gathering as a moment centred on peace, hope and service to humanity.
A Papal Audience is a formal gathering at which the Pope meets and addresses Catholics, pilgrims, officials or invited groups.
The most common is the General Audience, usually held on Wednesdays at the Vatican, where the Pope delivers an address, leads prayers and gives a blessing to those gathered.
