Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe has called for a crackdown on agrovet outlets selling counterfeit, unauthorised or smuggled pesticides as the Government intensifies efforts to ensure food safety. Even though the country has reported a 95 per cent decline in unauthorised and smuggled pesticides, the CS said more needs to be done to protect farmers and Kenyans from harmful chemicals, which are often linked to certain forms of cancer following prolonged exposure
