Crime sceneDetectives in Limuru, Kiambu County, are investigating the murder of a bodaboda rider whose body was found in a bush near a church.
The body of Agripsy Oraro was discovered on August 22, 2026, along a footpath in the Kwa Ngethe area.
According to police, a security guard discovered the body at about 6.30pm while heading to work.
The path he was using passes through a bush approximately 200 metres behind the church.
The man’s left hand had allegedly been tied with a black rubber material. A red motorcycle was also found parked a few metres from the body.
The security guard rushed to the church compound, where he alerted fellow guards before the matter was reported to police.
Police found Oraro lying on his back in a bush adjacent to a church. His identity was positively confirmed by fellow bodaboda operators who had arrived at the scene.
Police said blood was oozing from his mouth and he had injuries to his head and face. His left hand was tied with a black rubber material.
About 20 metres from the body was his red Boxer motorcycle.
The motorcycle was found with its ignition keys intact, alongside a yellow helmet.
The vegetation around the scene appeared disturbed, with traces of blood detected in the area, prompting investigators to examine the possibility that the rider was attacked at the location.
Scene of Crime personnel from Kiambu processed and documented the scene as detectives began collecting evidence that could help establish the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The motorcycle was recovered and taken to Tigoni Police Station, where it was booked and preserved as an exhibit.
Oraro’s body, which had visible head and facial injuries, was removed and taken to the mortuary at Tigoni Level IV Hospital, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy.
Police have commenced investigations to establish the motive for the killing and identify those responsible.
And the body of a 31-year-old woman was found floating in the Sinon River in Marakwet East, Elgeyo-Marakwet County, on Saturday morning.
The deceased, identified as Gladys Jepkemoi, was discovered in the river at Segut Sub-location.
The incident was reported to police on August 22, 2026, by a man identified as David Kosgey.
Police officers visited the scene.
According to family members, Jepkemoi had suffered from epilepsy since childhood.
Police said the body had no visible external injuries, although the exact circumstances surrounding her death remained unclear.
The scene was documented and processed before the body was retrieved from the river and moved to the Kapsowar AIC Mission Hospital mortuary.
A postmortem examination is expected to establish the cause of death as investigations into the incident continue.
