Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has apologised to journalists injured while covering political events, particularly in Homa Bay. Murkomen urged security agencies to coordinate with media houses to protect reporters during rallies and other gatherings. He said journalists cannot be stopped from covering events but should exercise responsibility by providing context when reporting officials’ statements. Two journalists were injured and assaulted during a political rally in Homa Bay on August 16.
