Police in Ndhiwa Subcounty in Homa Bay have arrested a 23-year-old man accused of sexually abusing his three cousins: twins aged 9 years and one aged 12.

The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday after the suspect allegedly visited the children while they were alone at home.

According to police, the suspect allegedly used various tactics to gain the children's trust before sexually abusing them.

The children later disclosed the incident to their parents, who reported the matter to police.

Police said the suspect went into hiding after learning that officers were looking for him.

He later surrendered himself at Ndhiwa Police Station on Monday.

Ndhiwa Subcounty Police Commander John Losia confirmed the arrest, saying the suspect had denied the allegations and told police that he did not touch the children.

“We are waiting for the medical results from the hospital as we continue with investigations,” Losia said.

The police commander visited the victims' home, where he established their ages as part of the ongoing investigations.

Losia said the suspect would be charged once investigations were complete and sufficient evidence had been gathered.

“The suspect would be charged once investigations are complete and we have sufficient evidence,” he said.
