AFC Leopards technical bench during their unveiling at Nyayo Stadium/HANDOUTAFC Leopards have declared themselves ready to mount a serious SportPesa Premier League title challenge after unveiling their technical bench for the 2026/27 season.
Chairman Boniface Ambani and head coach Fred Ambani said the club has built on last season's runners-up finish and assembled a backroom team capable of ending Leopards' long wait for the league crown.
Fred will continue as head coach and will be assisted by former Bandari tactician Bernard Mwalala, who joins as first assistant coach. Kenneth Wendo has been appointed second assistant coach, while Bernard Mang'oli will serve as team manager.

The technical unit also includes video analyst Josh Angatia, goalkeeper coach Steve Mbogo, fitness, strength and conditioning coach Vincent Mbwabi, team doctor Patrick Ngusale, physiotherapist Joshua Osir and kit manager Josephat Odanga.
Speaking during the official unveiling at Nyayo Stadium, Boniface Ambani urged the club to approach the new campaign with unity and belief.
“Let the season begin. In God We Trust. Season 2026/27. Raising the bar,” Boniface said. “We are not concentrating on the friendly results. We are working on our structure, defensive shape, counter-pressing and transitions."
He challenged his players to treat the new campaign as a fresh start.
“We are starting from zero. What we achieved last season belongs to last season, and every player must be ready for a new challenge,” he said.
The return of Mwalala has further strengthened the technical department, with Boniface backing the former Bandari coach to complement the head coach.
“Life is a journey. There are some bonds that can't be broken. It just happens you find yourselves having worked together successfully ages back, went your separate ways and again found yourself back to it again,” he said.
Beyond the pitch, the chairman said Leopards are also working to transform the club into a commercially structured entity through an eight-member committee.
“We are working towards making AFC Leopards a corporate commercial entity, and that process is expected to take about six months,” he said.
As Leopards prepare for the opening round of the new season, Fred Ambani believes discipline and consistency will be the keys to turning the club's title ambition into reality.
“We have to remain focused, disciplined and consistent because the league will demand that from the first match to the last,” he said.
