The National Disaster Operations Centre has urged the Ministries of Education and Interior to avoid using schools as camps for persons displaced by floods during the projected El Nino rains later this year. Speaking while opening the National Climate Outlook Forum, Centre Director David Samoei said the practice disrupts learning and can lead to destruction of school property, citing recent cases where displaced people were housed in schools.
