Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson says charges in the 2026 Finance Act do not target ordinary content creators or influencers. He said the fees apply to professional commercial film productions requiring extensive use of public spaces, roads and county infrastructure. Sakaja said the county supports Nairobi’s creative sector and will not stifle it. The charges include fees for commercial filming, music videos and content creation studios, he added.
