Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja has urged residents to remain alert as the city accelerates preparation for the El Niño rains, with drainage and flood mitigation works being intensified in identified hotspots. Speaking during an inspection of flood-prone areas including the Mombasa Road Bunyala junction corridor and the Globe roundabout, Sakaja said teams were unclogging drainage channels to improve stormwater flow.
