Six tourists and a pilot have died after a helicopter crashed near Mount Ololokwe in Samburu County on Wednesday morning.

Images from the scene show extensive wreckage scattered across the rugged, brush-covered terrain, with sections of the aircraft’s fuselage, rotor components and other mechanical parts strewn among rocks and vegetation.

Some images also show smouldering debris and flames rising from parts of the wreckage as emergency responders and local personnel gather around the crash site.

Authorities are yet to establish the cause of the crash, while recovery operations and efforts to identify the victims continue.
