Nearly nine out of ten mothers in Kenya now deliver in health facilities following the adoption of the EWENE initiative. Health DG Patrick Amoth says the two-year programme seeks to accelerate the reduction of preventable maternal, newborn and stillbirth deaths. DG Amoth says a six-month implementation sprint launched in May across 26 priority counties is targeting counties that are off track to achieve a rapid reduction in preventable deaths.
