UDA has defended certain regions over the poor state of their roads, attributing the situation to decades of historical marginalisation. UDA Director of Communication Nathaniel Mong’are said road development has been uneven, leaving some regions behind. He said the ongoing 6,000-kilometre tarmacking programme is addressing the imbalance by distributing projects across the country. Mong’are added that under President William Ruto, an additional 28,000 kilometres of roads will be constructed through the National Infrastructure Fund. The remarks follow concerns raised over Homa Bay’s roads during the Linda Mwananchi tour.
