Hiring IllustrationThe Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) has invited applications for one vacant position for a female member, with qualified candidates given until August 28 to submit their applications.
The position is reserved for a woman who is not a Member of Parliament and will be filled by Parliament under Article 127(2)(d) of the Constitution.
In a notice dated August 14, the Clerk of the Senate and Secretary to the Parliamentary Service Commission said the vacancy was for one female member of the commission drawn from persons experienced in public affairs.
“The Secretary to the Commission now invites applications for one (1) vacant position for a female Member of the Parliamentary Service Commission under Article 127(2)(d) of the Constitution,” the notice stated.
The commission said there is currently no vacancy for the male member under the same constitutional provision and therefore only qualified female candidates should apply.
To qualify, applicants must be Kenyan citizens and must not be serving as Members of Parliament.
They must also hold a degree from a university recognised in Kenya and have at least 10 years' experience in public affairs.
Applicants are further required to meet the leadership and integrity requirements provided under Chapter Six of the Constitution.
The Parliamentary Service Commission is established under Article 127 of the Constitution and is responsible, among other functions, for providing services and facilities to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of Parliament.
Women seeking the position have been directed to complete the Job Application Form for Female Parliamentary Service Commission, Form PSC/F/2026, which is available on the Parliament website.
The commission said applications without the prescribed form would not be considered.
Applicants are required to attach copies of their academic and professional certificates and testimonials to the completed application.
They must also submit a copy of a Self-Declaration Form to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, as required under Section 12A of the Leadership and Integrity Act.
Completed applications should be addressed to the Clerk of the Senate/Secretary, Parliamentary Service Commission and submitted online as a PDF attachment.
The applications should be sent by email to [email protected].
The commission set Friday, August 28, at 5 pm Kenyan time as the deadline for applications.
Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
