IMLO has called for an independent coroners service to conduct impartial autopsies and investigate deaths in police custody without interference. Director Wangeci Kahuria says this would support the enforcement of IG Kanja’s directive to interdict officers on duty when such deaths occur. She also wants IPOA given full cooperation to establish the truth in these cases.
