On the radarPresident William Ruto is set to preside over the 46th Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) passing out parade in Eldoret.
The ceremony marks the completion of basic military training by recruits and their transition into trained members of the armed forces.
During the parade, the recruits are expected to demonstrate military drills and other skills acquired during their training. The ceremony may also feature an inspection of the graduates, military band performances and the presentation of awards to outstanding recruits.
The event also provides an opportunity for families and friends to witness the recruits formally graduate from their training.
A passing out parade is a significant military ceremony that marks the end of an intensive training period and the beginning of service as trained personnel.
Public Service Commission post-vetting
The vetting of Flora Mutua, nominee for appointment as a member of the Public Service Commission (PSC), is set to take place at the Mini Chambers, County Hall.
The vetting will assess her suitability for appointment to the commission, with the process expected to examine her qualifications, experience and integrity.
Mutua’s appearance before the vetting panel comes as part of the formal process for scrutinising nominees proposed for positions in public institutions.
Kajiado human-wildlife conflict
The Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife will appear before the Public Petitions Committee over a petition concerning intervention measures to address human-wildlife conflict in Kajiado County.
The committee is expected to examine the concerns raised in the petition and hear from the ministry on measures being taken to mitigate conflicts between communities and wildlife.
The session will take place at Bunge Towers at 12.30 pm.
Committee meets officials over asbestos ban.
Officials from the State Department for Environment and the State Department for Public Health will appear before the Implementation Committee over the implementation of the ban on the use of asbestos as a roofing material.
The committee is expected to examine measures taken by the government to enforce the ban and address concerns surrounding the continued use of asbestos roofing materials.
The session will take place at Continental House at 11.30am.
