The annual cycling event celebrates the legacy of Starehe’s founder, Dr Geoffrey William Griffin, while raising funds to support the school’s sustainability, scholarships and infrastructure.

The 2026 Bike-A-Thon was flagged off in Busia on August 3 and will pass through 19 counties before reaching Mombasa.

The challenge is being undertaken by 10 Form Three students who were selected through a competitive process and trained for the demanding journey.

The students have received support from professional riders, teachers, coaches, alumni and volunteers as they take on the 13-day challenge.

The team is targeting Sh10 million to support Starehe’s mission and create opportunities for future students.
