The government has been ordered to set aside Sh.105 million from the compensation fund to compensate victims of torture, enforced disappearances and abductions. Justice Gregory Mutai issued the directive pending the hearing and determination of a petition challenging the government’s authentication process for identifying and verifying victims eligible for compensation. However, the court allowed the compensation process involving other victims to proceed once the Sh105 million has been set aside.
