The government has defended the 2% deduction from hospitals’ SHA claims, describing it as a service charge for processing and facilitating payments. Digital Health Authority CEO Anthony Lenaiyara said the funds support digital systems that enable efficient claims processing while ensuring Kenyans can access and manage their health records.
