Nigerian music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia and his wife, Natasha Osawaru, have triggered fresh speculation about the state of their relationship after making noticeable changes to their Instagram accounts.
The latest development comes days after reports of a confrontation involving the couple at the opening of a nightclub in Abuja, where 2Baba was scheduled to perform.
According to reports circulating online, the incident happened on Friday during the launch of 90s Lounge. Accounts from people who claimed to have witnessed the incident suggest that Osawaru arrived at the venue with several people and later approached 2Baba’s vehicle.
The situation reportedly attracted the attention of security personnel and police officers, who intervened as the scene became tense. However, while footage from the incident has circulated widely online, the video does not independently establish what sparked the reported confrontation.
Following the incident, reports emerged claiming that 2Baba had told Osawaru he no longer wanted to continue with their relationship.
His Instagram activity has since added fuel to the speculation. By Sunday, checks showed that the singer was no longer following Osawaru on the platform, although she continued to follow him.
The social media development has attracted considerable attention because of the couple’s relatively short and highly publicised relationship.
2Baba's marriage to actress Annie Macaulay Idibia came to an end in January 2025 after 13 years together. The singer later went public with his relationship with Osawaru, an Edo State lawmaker. He proposed to her in February 2025, with the pair subsequently holding a private traditional wedding ceremony in July of the same year.
But the latest twist has brought 2Baba's past relationship back into the spotlight.
On Monday, social media users noticed that 2Baba and Annie had followed each other again on Instagram. The two had previously stopped following each other after their separation, making the renewed connection particularly notable amid the reports surrounding his current marriage.
The timing has prompted plenty of reactions online, with some users describing the development as ironic given the speculation surrounding 2Baba and Osawaru.
There have also been previous signs of friction involving the couple. In one incident, 2Baba reportedly intervened during a livestream involving former members of his management team as they discussed aspects of his personal life. A tense exchange involving the singer and Osawaru was subsequently heard in the background before the livestream ended abruptly.
Despite the ongoing public attention surrounding his relationships, 2Baba has previously rejected claims that Osawaru was responsible for the breakdown of his marriage to Annie.
For now, however, the latest Instagram changes remain the clearest public sign of a possible rift. Neither 2Baba nor Osawaru has publicly confirmed that they have separated or addressed the reported nightclub confrontation.
Until either party comments on the matter, the online speculation remains just that, speculation.
