We are hiring illustration/ FILEThe Mombasa County Public Service Board has advertised 76 job vacancies and 120 internship opportunities, inviting qualified and competent applicants to apply for positions across various departments of the county government.
The vacancies are spread across the departments of Transport, Infrastructure and Governance, Lands, Urban Planning and Housing, Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, and Education and Vocational Training.
The jobs are offered on three-year contracts, while the internship opportunities will run for six months.
Under the Department of Transport, Infrastructure and Governance, the Board is seeking three Architect II officers, two Quantity Surveyor II, two Surveyor II (Engineering), two Surveyor II (Geospatial), one Engineer II (Mechanical), three Engineer II (Structural) and two Engineer II (Electrical) officers. All the positions are in Job Group K and are on three-year contracts.
The Department of Lands, Urban Planning and Housing has advertised one Deputy Director, Land Survey and Mapping in Job Group Q, three Chief Land Surveyors in Job Group M, two Land Valuers in Job Group K and two Cartography Assistant III positions in Job Group H. These positions are also on three-year contracts.
At Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, the Board is seeking three Registered Nurse I – Theatre Nurse officers in Job Group K, six Sonographers in Job Group H, four Medical Specialist I (Radiologist) officers in Job Group Q, one Medical Specialist I (Neurosurgeon) in Job Group Q, one Senior Medical Specialist (Paediatric Intensivist) in Job Group R and 12 Support Staff Porters in Job Group E.
The Board said the positions for Registered Nurse I – Theatre Nurse, Medical Specialist I (Radiologist), Medical Specialist I (Neurosurgeon) and Senior Medical Specialist (Paediatric Intensivist) are re-advertisements.
Under Education and Vocational Training, the county is seeking 15 Youth Polytechnic Instructor III officers in Job Group H, nine Assistant Youth Polytechnic Instructor officers in Job Group G and two Accountant I officers in Job Group K.
The Board has also opened 120 internship opportunities for applicants with different academic qualifications.
Under the Digital Transformation department, six internship positions are available for degree holders and two for diploma holders under ICT – Intern.
The Environment and Solid Waste Management department is seeking 25 degree holders, 30 diploma holders and 15 certificate holders for Solid Waste Management Administration internships.
The same department has advertised 10 positions for degree holders, 10 for diploma holders and 10 for certificate holders under Environmental Compliance internships.
The Health Services department has also advertised 12 Nutrition and Dietetics Technologist III internship positions for diploma holders.
All the internship opportunities will run for six months.
The Board said interested and qualified candidates are required to complete the employment application details through the Mombasa County Public Service Board recruitment website, recruitment.mcpsb.go.ke.
Applicants are required to attach their curriculum vitae, certified copies of relevant academic and professional certificates and transcripts, identity card or passport, and any other relevant supporting documents.
"Submission for the Job Applications should be done on or before 17th August, 2026," the Board said.
The Board also encouraged eligible applicants from groups that have historically faced barriers to employment to apply.
"Youth, Women and Persons Living with Disabilities, Marginalized and Minority communities are encouraged to apply," it said.
The Board warned applicants against attempting to influence the recruitment process.
"Canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification," the Board said.
It also cautioned applicants against recruitment agents and fraudulent recruitment schemes.
"Please be informed that Mombasa County Public Service Board DOES NOT USE AGENTS nor CHARGE ANY FEE for its services," the Board said.
"ONLY Short-listed candidates will be contacted."
Those shortlisted will be required to present original documents during the interviews.
"They shall be required to produce originals of their National Identity Card, Academic and Professional certificates and Transcripts," the Board said.
Applicants with degrees obtained from foreign universities will also be required to provide additional documentation.
"Clearance certificate from Commission for University Education (for holders of degrees from foreign Universities) and any other relevant documents" will be required during the interviews, the Board said.
