Fally Ipupa is set to return to Kenya for a major concert scheduled for September 5, 2026, at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi.
A Star-Studded Multi-Genre Lineup
The event, dubbed Fally Ipupa Live in Nairobi, will feature a star-studded lineup of local and international performers, including South African Amapiano star Kamo Mphela, Tango Supreme, DJ Ice, DJ Maphorisa, Kenyan DJ Joe Mfalme and Kodong Klan.
The diverse lineup is expected to bring together Congolese rhumba, Amapiano and contemporary African sounds, with Fally Ipupa headlining the event.
Fally’s return comes months after his highly anticipated appearance at the Africa Forward Summit closing concert at Kasarani Indoor Arena failed to materialise in May.
The singer had been billed alongside Yemi Alade, Bien, Nandy and other African stars but did not perform after reportedly being advised to rest following his performances at Stade de France.
The September concert will therefore provide Kenyan fans another opportunity to see the Congolese star perform live.
Fan Backlash Over Ticket Prices and Timing
However, the announcement has also sparked debate over ticket prices, with some fans comparing the reported cost to Fally’s previous Nairobi performance.
One fan, @kwemzyyyyy, wrote, “I’m not paying above 3k to see an artist perform🤣wacha ntamsikizia Spotify.”
Another fan, @RiceSZN_AFC, questioned the pricing, saying, “10k to see Fally Ipupa is just daylight robbery... we saw him in 2023 na 2500.”
Others have questioned the timing of the concert. @Teddy_meshak wrote, “Fally Ipupa is set to perform in Nairobi Uhuru Gardens on 5th Sep,” before adding, “He is busy marketing his UK London concert in October than hii ya Uhuru Gardens 😂.”
The fan further speculated, “I just guess Kuna pesa inataka kuoshwa that's why the performance imekuja abruptly,” although the claim remains speculation and has not been substantiated.
Buzz Surrounding the Event's Host
Meanwhile, excitement has also surrounded the event’s hosting duties following Azeezah’s announcement that she would host the concert.
