Stakeholders in reproductive health are urging the government to introduce a uniform taxation policy on menstrual products to improve access and affordability. A report by the Network for Adolescent and Youth of Africa (NAYA) reveals that while disposable menstrual products are tax-free, reusable ones are taxed as medical equipment making them expensive. NAYA also recommends provision of incentives to support local manufacturers in producing affordable, high-quality menstrual products.
