Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has renewed his criticism of the government’s affordable housing programme and the Social Health Authority (SHA), saying both initiatives have failed to improve the lives of ordinary Kenyans. Sifuna argued that the housing programme has not reduced informal settlements especially in Nairobi, while SHA’s high registration numbers do not reflect success in a struggling health sector. He claimed the programmes are benefiting a few political interests rather than the wider public.
