The Teachers Service Commission has dismissed claims by teachers’ union KNUT that it has failed to protect teachers’ welfare, including promotions. The commission says delays in promotions are largely due to inadequate funding and not lack of commitment. Acting CEO Eveleen Mitei stated that promotions are strictly guided by career progression guidelines and depend on the availability of funds.
