Sifuna posted the photos with Keter and captioned them: “Here we go! @alfredarapketer. They also say, "Team is One, Term is One.”
Keter, who has been vocal in his opposition to President William Ruto, responded with his familiar political rallying cry: “Wantam Is Wantam! #RutoMustGo.”
The exchange has sparked speculation over the political significance of the meeting, particularly as opposition leaders continue to explore ways of building a formidable alliance ahead of the 2027 elections.
Keter, an outspoken political figure from the Rift Valley, has in recent months remained vocal on national political issues and has criticised the Kenya Kwanza administration.
The meeting comes at a time when several opposition parties and political leaders are holding consultations on the possibility of presenting a united presidential candidate against Ruto.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been leading efforts to consolidate opposition support across different regions, while other leaders have insisted that the process of choosing a presidential candidate must be inclusive.
The emerging political alignments have also brought together leaders who previously operated in different political camps, raising the prospect of new alliances ahead of the next election.
Sifuna has previously been associated with ODM's efforts to strengthen its political presence following the death of former party leader Raila Odinga, while Keter's political base has traditionally been in the Rift Valley.
Their public interaction could therefore signal an attempt to broaden opposition networks beyond traditional regional and party boundaries.
