Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has called for strict enforcement of the mandatory Sh30,000 minimum wage for security guards in Nairobi and Sh27,100 outside the city. Speaking during a security guards meeting at State House, he accused private security firms of underpaying workers and ignoring government wage orders. Sakaja noted that only 300 out of 1,900 registered companies have complied with the directive.
