The government, through the Social Health Authority (SHA), has set aside sufficient funds to provide emergency medical care during the first 24 hours of an emergency. Speaking during the launch of the SHA 922 emergency service, SHA CEO Dr Mercy Mwangangi said the authority is committed to ensuring ambulances remain fully equipped and ready to respond at all times. She added that all personnel involved have been trained and described the new emergency response system as a major milestone for Kenya’s healthcare sector.
