The Senate will today launch the County Fiscal Performance Measurement Index, a scientific tool developed to assess how county governments manage public resources. Speaker Amason Kingi says the index, prepared by the Parliamentary Budget Office, will measure counties on key public finance indicators including budget implementation, development expenditure and audit outcomes. The Senate says the tool will strengthen oversight of devolved funds and promote transparency, accountability and improved service delivery across counties.
