Kenya Railways and the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) have announced fresh recruitment drives for managerial and driver positions, with applications for both opportunities closing on Monday, August 24, 2026.

The two state agencies are seeking qualified Kenyans to fill vacancies in human resources, communications and public affairs, as well as driver positions to support their operations across the country.

Kenya Railways advertises two managerial positions

Kenya Railways is recruiting for two senior management positions comprising one Human Resource Manager, Grade RG 3 (Job Ref KRBR173), which has been re-advertised, and one Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Grade RG 3 (Job Ref KRBR174), a new vacancy.

The corporation said the positions are open to Kenyan citizens only.

Applicants are required to submit a signed application letter, a detailed curriculum vitae indicating current and previous employers, positions held, education level, current and expected salary, notice period and at least three professional referees.

They must also attach copies of academic and professional certificates and a copy of their national identity card or passport.

Kenya Railways warned applicants against providing false information during the recruitment process.

"Candidates should provide all the details requested for in the advertisement. It is an offence to include incorrect information in the application," the advertisement reads.

The corporation further cautioned candidates against submitting fake academic or professional documents and warned job seekers to be vigilant against fraudsters soliciting money using the organisation's name.

Successful candidates will be required to present Chapter Six compliance documents, including a Certificate of Good Conduct, HELB clearance certificate, KRA tax compliance certificate, EACC clearance and a CRB report.

Interested candidates should submit applications through the job link available on the Kenya Railways website: www.krc.co.ke.

"Please note that applications will only be via the job-link, hard copies shall not be considered," Kenya Railways said.

Applicants must clearly indicate the position applied for and the vacancy reference number.

Kenya Railways said any form of canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.

The deadline for applications is Monday, August 24, 2026, at 5 pm.

Communications Authority recruiting seven drivers

The Communications Authority of Kenya is on the other hand seeking to recruit seven Driver III officers (CA11) on a fixed-term contract of two years, renewable once for one year subject to satisfactory performance.

The drivers will be deployed to the authority's headquarters and regional offices to support ongoing projects across different parts of the country.

According to the authority, the successful candidates will be responsible for transporting authorised passengers safely and maintaining assigned vehicles.

"This role require a competent driver who will be responsible for provision of safe and timely transportation of authorised passengers as well as good maintenance of the Authority's vehicle. The officer at this level will work under the guidance and supervision of the Fleet Manager," the authority said.

Among the duties are driving authorised vehicles, conducting routine vehicle inspections, reporting mechanical defects and accidents, maintaining vehicle records, coordinating servicing and repairs, ensuring compliance with transport policies and observing high standards of professionalism and customer service.

Applicants must have a KCSE mean grade of D (Plain) or its equivalent, at least two years of driving experience, a valid category D2 driving licence with no current endorsements and a clean driving record for the past two years.

They are also required to have passed the Driver Grade III suitability test, possess a first-aid certificate from a recognised institution and demonstrate proficiency in computer applications.

Experience in long-distance driving, operating vehicles in diverse terrains and possession of a valid defensive driving certificate will be an added advantage.

Applications must include a signed cover letter, detailed CV with contacts of three referees, a copy of the national identity card and copies of relevant academic and professional certificates.

The authority said only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.

"Canvassing in any form or failure to attach any of the stipulated documents shall lead to automatic disqualification," the commission warned.
