The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced seven director-level vacancies as it moves to fill key positions in its senior management.
The commission invited suitably qualified, experienced, result-oriented and highly motivated individuals to apply for the positions.
The vacancies include Director of Voter Education and Partnerships, Director of Research, Electoral Boundaries and Risk Management, Director of Human Resources and Administration, Director of Internal Audit and Compliance, Director of Finance, Director of Corporate Communications, and Director of Counties and Constituencies Coordination.
Each position is at job grade 3, with one vacancy available per role.
Interested candidates have been advised to access detailed job descriptions and application guidelines through the e-recruitment platform.
Applicants will be required to submit a signed application letter, a detailed curriculum vitae indicating current and previous employers, positions held and the names of at least three professional referees, a copy of their national identity card, and copies of their academic and professional certificates.
The commission said applications must be submitted by Tuesday, August 17, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
The IEBC said they are equal opportunity employers and encouraged youth, women, persons with disabilities (PWDs) and candidates from marginalised communities to apply.
The institutions also warned that canvassing, falsifying or misrepresenting qualifications would result in automatic disqualification. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
On July 28, IEBC launched the recruitment process for a new Commission Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, inviting qualified Kenyans to apply for the position as it moves to fill one of its top administrative offices.
The electoral agency said the successful candidate will serve as the Commission's chief executive and accounting officer, overseeing the implementation of IEBC policies and the day-to-day management of its operations.
The Commission said applicants must meet the constitutional requirements for holders of public office and possess the academic qualifications, professional experience and leadership skills prescribed under the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Act and other relevant laws.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to present clearance certificates from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and a registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
The successful applicant will oversee the implementation of the Commission's resolutions, provide leadership in the management of staff and daily operations, administer its financial and administrative functions, ensure the security of official records, and guide the institution in delivering its constitutional mandate with accountability, efficiency and integrity.
The vacancy follows the departure of former Commission Secretary and CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan earlier this year.
Since then, Moses Ledama Sunkuli has been serving in an acting capacity pending the appointment of a substantive office holder.
Under the IEBC Act, the office is held for a four-year term, renewable only once, making him ineligible for another term.
