The Ministry of Health has signed a Sh10.3 billion deal with the Beginnings Fund to improve maternal and newborn healthcare. In a statement, the ministry of health said the funding will support efforts to reduce preventable maternal and newborn deaths. According to the Beginnings Fund CEO Alice Kang’ethe, the programme will focus on 21 priority counties, support 200 high-volume health facilities, and directly benefit an estimated six million women and newborns.
