Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has criticised opposition leaders, saying they lack a clear agenda and vision for the country's future.
Speaking on Saturday during the launch of the Marakwet Full Bible and Dedication Ceremony in Tot, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Murkomen said the opposition had failed to present an alternative development plan for Kenyans.
"We know for sure that the opposition has no agenda apart from talking about Kasongo and Murkomen," he said.
"They do not have a clear plan for the country's future," he added.
Murkomen said the country should shift its focus to long-term development and national progress.
"It is now time to reimagine the future of Kenya," he said.
The CS rallied support for President William Ruto's proposed Beyond 2030 Vision, describing it as a roadmap that requires public input before implementation.
He urged Kenyans to take part in the upcoming public participation process and submit their views on the country's future, saying public involvement would be important in shaping the national development blueprint.
His remarks come days after President William Ruto unveiled plans to develop a new national development charter to succeed Vision 2030.
Ruto said the process should transcend political and electoral cycles and establish a shared national direction anchored in the Constitution.
Murkomen also cautioned politicians against statements that could fuel political violence ahead of future political activities.
He said the government would not tolerate remarks that could promote hatred, division or unrest.
"'Kuchunga kura' is a coded expression for violence," Murkomen said.
He warned leaders against using language that could incite chaos, saying political competition should not undermine peace and stability.
Murkomen called for political competition to remain issue-based, saying Kenya's development and stability should take precedence over partisan interests.
The event was attended by several political leaders, including Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Elgeyo-Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang and Kericho Governor Erick Mutai.
Also present were Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi, Kiambu MP Anne Muratha and Elgeyo-Marakwet MP Caroline Ngelechei, alongside members of county assemblies and other leaders.
