President William Ruto on Thursday evening delivered a Special National Address from State House, Nairobi, calling on Kenyans to begin a national conversation on the country's long-term development beyond Vision 2030.

During the address, the President said Vision 2030 had guided Kenya's development agenda for nearly two decades but was approaching its horizon, making it necessary to formulate a new national development charter anchored on the 2010 Constitution.

He said the proposed roadmap should be developed through an inclusive, citizen-driven process involving leaders, professionals, young people, civil society, the private sector and other stakeholders.

Ruto also outlined the country's economic progress over the past four years, citing improved macroeconomic stability, increased investor confidence and stronger foreign exchange reserves as the foundation for Kenya's next phase of growth.

The President announced that the formal national conversation on Kenya's future beyond Vision 2030 will be launched on August 12, 2026, describing it as one of the most significant public participation exercises since the promulgation of the Constitution.
