For millions of football fans worldwide, Robbie Lyle is the face of fan-powered football media. But during his latest visit to Kenya, which begins tomorrow, the founder of global digital media powerhouse AFTV (formerly Arsenal Fan TV) is bringing a message that goes beyond football.

Supported by Safaricom, Nairobi Serena Hotel and BuyMeSoda, the six-day tour, organised by London-based events promoter Ken Mathiu, aims to highlight Kenya's growing status as a regional digital innovation hub while inspiring a new generation of African creators to turn their passion into sustainable careers.
The former singer and quantity surveyor has built one of the world's most influential sports media brands, transforming a fan channel outside Arsenal's Emirates Stadium into a global digital platform.
He will be joined by fellow football content creators Lee Judges, Cecil Lee Thomas and Kenyah Lyle, as well as Arsenal legend and former Ivory Coast international Emmanuel Eboué.
Today, AFTV, together with its sister platforms United View and DR Sports, reaches millions of viewers worldwide and has become a benchmark for independent digital journalism and sports entertainment.
Making his second visit to Kenya in just over a year, Lyle will headline a content creators' workshop at Zetech University. He is expected to mentor hundreds of aspiring Kenyan creators on audience growth, content production and digital monetisation.
"I am delighted to be back in Kenya because I have always believed Africa has some of the most creative young people in the world," Lyle told the Star.
"The online space is now one of the biggest employers globally through content creation. You don't need a huge company to succeed anymore. You need creativity, consistency and the courage to tell authentic stories. If I can inspire even a few young Africans to build sustainable careers from digital content, then this trip will have been worthwhile."
The tour programme includes a press conference, media interviews, an Arsenal pre-season watch party featuring Girona against Arsenal, fan engagement activities, sponsor activations, a parade through Nairobi and a live concert.
The events are designed to bring together football supporters and content creators in a celebration of sport, digital innovation and youth entrepreneurship.
Lyle said mentoring emerging African creators has become one of his personal missions as the continent continues to produce world-class digital talent capable of competing on the global stage.
Kenya is the latest stop on Lyle's expanding African outreach programme. Earlier this year, he visited Kampala at the invitation of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.
He has also toured Ethiopia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Ghana. His previous visit to Nairobi culminated in a successful Arsenal watch party that attracted hundreds of supporters.
