Family members, friends, business associates and mourners gathered for a funeral service to pay their final respects to the veteran transporter, whose Mbukinya buses served generations of passengers travelling between Nairobi and Western Kenya.
Over the years, Mbukinya Bus Services built a reputation as one of the country's most recognisable long-distance transport companies, connecting Nairobi with towns including Kisumu, Kakamega, Mumias and Siaya.

Following his death, Kenyans took to social media to share memories of travelling aboard Mbukinya buses, with many describing Muthumbi as a transport pioneer whose company became part of their personal journeys to school, work and family.


His burial marked the final farewell to a businessman widely remembered for his contribution to Kenya's public transport industry.
